Root
In the D2M (Device2Mail) system, the Root User is the primary user of the product, and this privilege cannot be delegated to another user. This privileged account accesses the portal using the password defined during the installation phase (FTW – First Time Wizard).
The main duties and authorities of the Root user within D2M are as follows:
Privileged Access: Serves as the highest-level account used to perform critical configuration operations in situations where system administrators are unable to access the portal.
Settings Screen Management: Responsible for configuring LDAP settings (Domain FQDN, Port), Login Security settings (SMS OTP and Captcha), and Notification settings (SMTP Relay).
Role Management: Authorized to assign Admin, Report Operator, and HelpDesk Operator roles to users or groups within the organization.
Restricted and Critical Interface: When logged in with the Root role, only the Settings and Role Management screens—considered the core of the system—are displayed, and actions can be performed exclusively within these areas.
At a later stage, in order to define an Admin user or to monitor processes such as License Management, the necessary authorizations must be performed via the Root user.
